Our Values

Support for applicants and trainees is our priority-from the point of enquiry, right through to the end of the course and beyond. We have a small friendly team to support you in all areas of the course.

1-2-1 Support

We understand how complex and overwhelming deciding on a training provider can be and offer a range of options for you to be able to come and find out more about our courses. We hold regular Information Events, and will also arrange 1-2-1 appointments to enable you to find out about our course and ask questions about what we offer. We would be very happy to talk you through and advise on all aspects of the application whether that be course information, completing the application form or writing a personal statement. A warm and professional welcome awaits you.

Successful candidates are supported through to the start of the course. Our friendly team are always on hand to ensure you get everything organised for the beginning of the course. We are happy to answer any questions or queries you may have as well as encourage you to attend pre-course events such as our infamous Pizza Night! A great opportunity for everyone on the course to start getting to know each other in preparation for our inspirational induction day.

There is always a member of the team available to help you and talk you through every element of the course. From your Professional Tutor, right through to our admin team-we all aim to support you as much as possible to ensure you can concentrate on your learning and development.

Your support team

Staff well-being is of paramount importance to our trusts and all our partner schools. Your teacher training year will be rewarding but, at times, challenging. We have many levels of easily and quickly accessed support in place to enable you to succeed and flourish:

Your tutor gets to know you well through training sessions and school visits. They give both pastoral and academic support throughout the year. Our tutor team has vast experience in supporting trainees through the different challenges they may face, both personal and academic.

In each school you will be assigned a Learning Coach – this person will meet with you weekly to review your progress and development priorities. They are highly skilled at responding to individual needs.

On each placement you work in partnership with a class teacher. This gives a good balance of nurture and challenge to enable you to grow at your own pace.

Through our partnership with the universities, trainees have full access to student services, including study support and counselling. Academic support is provided by university tutors.

From 2019, we are working with a small group of our alumni to provide a ‘First port of call’ layer of support for trainees. Run by volunteer past trainees, they understand the highs and challenges of teacher training and our courses inside and out. This makes them very well placed to offer advice and support, whether you need advice on how to evidence a TSA or just someone to talk to.

The bond that our trainees form and the support that they give each other is consistently strong. We help develop this early on by holding 2 events before the training year begins, and a residential early in the year. These friendships last into our graduates’ careers.
